Blended Worship Service

Every Sunday morning at 10:45 pm in the Sanctuary - it is a "blended" service in that we honor what is ancient and modern - traditional hymns and praise choruses, worship forms of the past and modern media, and in many other ways combine old and new.

Children's Church Needs

Children in our church who are ages 3 through 2nd grade participate each Sunday in Children's Church. This program takes place in Room B-103 after the children's sermon part of the worship service. During Children's Church, the children have a snack, participate in a Bible related art project, or watch a Christian-based children's video. Our desire is that parents be able to truly worship without distraction and that children be loved and cared for as their parents worship! If you would like to volunteer in this ministry or supply snacks, please contact Shelly Todd, Director of Children's Ministries by calling the church office.

Ministering with music at Baldwin First

My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul. I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Psalm 108:1-4

Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20

Music is so central to our worship of God. whether the congregation raises the roof in corporate singing or we pour out our hearts to God listening to a CD while driving the car along the road music is a language through which we communicate our love to God and through which we hear God speak to us.

Therefore, it is our desire to sing well, to sing with depth and freedom and to truly focus on the Lord whenever we lift our voices. It is a great joy to have multiple choirs at Baldwin First!

Vocal Choir- Our choir sings in the morning blended worship service, giving leadership to the corporate singing of all who are gathered for worship. Whether singing a traditional hymn or a contemporary chorus, our choir leads us to enter into the holy of holies, that is to draw closer and closer to God's presence among his worshiping people. The choir also shares one or more cantatas during the year and other forms of special music. We are looking for a variety of musicians to help us in our blended music styles - guitarists, keyboardists, drummers, etc.

The chancel choir meets Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:20 p.m.

Praise Team- This group meets for practice on Sunday evenings at 4:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Accompanied by guitar, their focus is on the latest of Christian music and more contemporary arrangements of classic hymns. They give leadership to the worship time of the Alpha course.

Bell Choir- Our bell ringers bring wonderful arrangements of hymns and songs to the worship service and enhance our time of praise and prayer. Using both bells and chimes, they are a blessing to all of us. Their practice time is from 8:20 pm until 9:10 on Wednesday evenings.

Children's Choir- Our elementary age children gather to practice music each Sunday prior to Sunday School. They meet in the sanctuary at 9:30 am under the direction of Shelly Todd, Children's Ministry Director.
