Adult Christian Education
There are a variety of adult Sunday School programs for adults. You may wish to visit and decide which one suits you. Adult Sunday School meets at the same time as the Children’s Sunday School from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the worship service. There are several to choose from depending on your interests and needs. Feel free to visit each one if you wish!
Adult Bible Study Series: This class meets in the fellowship hall and uses the adult study guide developed by the Methodist Conference.
Lamplighters: This class meets in the church library and studies a variety of topics at the discretion of the class members.
Electives: Upon request by a church member or at the suggestion of either the director of adult ministry or the spiritual growth team, electives are offered for adult studies.
Alpha: Alpha is a 12-week film series and discussion of the basic tenants of Christianity. This study is especially good for both those who want to review the basics and those who have little knowledge of what the Bible teaches. It is offered periodically upon demand.
Bible Studies
Bible Studies are offered throughout the year, usually in the evening and occasionally during a seek day. Contact the office to learn more about what is currently offered. Some that have been offered are:
Financial Peace University
Dave Ramsey's Bible-based look at financial responsibility and how to take charge of your budget from the Christian point of view. It is offered periodically or on demand, usually on a weekday evening. Pastoral Care
Pastor Paul Babcock is anxious to meet the pastoral needs or arrange for a personal visit with members of the church community. Pastor Paul can be reached by contacting the church office. Caring Ministries
Caring Ministry is a group of lay members of the church who provide regular contact, support and care for residents of area retirement centers or nursing homes as well as other people with various support needs. Missions
A very active missions team meets monthly and is open to volunteer membership. The missions team serves in many areas such as maintaining the Baldwin City Food Pantry in the church basement and serving meals periodically to the area homeless and hungry in Lawrence at the LINK kitchen. To learn more about the Missions Team contact Laura Dickinson at 594-2658. |
