Summary 2010 Goals

SUMMARY OF PRIORITIES FOR 2010

COMPLETED GOALS

Generate adequate funding to return the staffing and apportionment payment levels budgeted in 2009.

Develop a balanced general budget which is approved and supported by an informed congregation. The general budget is to include all planned expenditures and projected revenues.

INITIAL GOALS COMPLETED / FUNCTION ONGOING

Create a communication and technology team and maintain a current, regularly updated web site.

Establish a stewardship team separate from the finance committee with an emphasis on stewardship theology and focus.

Establish a membership team to maintain records and assist in educating visitors and members about what it means to be a member of BFUMC.

INITIAL GOALS PARTIALLY COMPLETED / REMAINDER STILL IN PROCESS

Complete a full building engineering assessment including foundations, meeting all electrical and other mechanical codes, etc. This document will be used as a facility-planning tool for the trustees.

Complete a space analysis of current structure to assess best use of space to ensure adequate restrooms, Sunday school spaces, etc.

GOAL WITH MAJORITY TO STILL BE COMPLETED

Create a spiritual growth team, implement the spiritual growth plan and include strategies for youth and children.

(Because a spiritual growth team was not formed during 2010, most of the goals in this section were not achieved. The one goal, conducting a “Parenting with Love and Logic” class was completed. The other goals in this section, beginning with

creating the spiritual growth team will be carried over for 2011.)
